Clean Bill of Health

Result of the Orthopedic Surgeon appointment today was that my fracture is making good progress. The Doc wants me to start using my arm as much as my comfort/pain level allows and I don't risk or actually fall on it. Eating, driving, drinking, smoking, brushing my hair, etc. His thought is that at 6-8 weeks, I should be 100%. At least from a broken bone perspective. No rehab, no return appointments, just GTFO of his office and don't come back until I break, tear or damage something else. I told him about my fall this weekend and he claims there is no evidence I screwed anything up in the x-ray. I would have snapped a pic of the x-ray but, it looked the same as the last to me. With the addition of some unimpressive, somewhat transparent, lines of the callus forming around the bone. So, my non-professional assessment was spot on. Who needs med school?

  1. Congrats on making it to this point ... Sure tames an enormous amount of patience and a strong mind!! I'm on 23rd day of dislocated shoulder and finally think I'm ready for a ride on something other than cruiser bike at snail pace. Hope my assessment is as correct as yours!
